Via ferrata "Laurenzi"
Alpe di Tires
The via ferrata Laurenzi
is the direct connection from the Alpe di Tires to the lake Antermoia. The via ferrata crosses the entire Molignon crest and offers wonderful views. Due to its difficulty it demands an excellent climbing technique.
From the Refuge Alpe Tires proceed along path No.554 towards the Catinaccio. Just before arriving at the Molignon Pass (2600m), head left and continue (the path has signposts and is marked) until you reach the first rope. Ascend to the ridge and cross ist, thus entering the high-altitude plateau and the summit of the northwest Molignon (2778 m). Continue east until you reach the actual entry to the via ferrata (2763 m). You can now proceed more or less over the ridge (from left to right) with several approaches to the summit of the middle Molignon at 2845m. Be careful there is some lava erosion amidst the limestone. You descend on the south side as the trail becomes steeper and steeper until you reach the last rope of the ferrata. Proceed trough scree and descend to Lake Antermoja (2487m). To return to the Refuge Alpe di Tires take the mountain passes Antermoja, Principe an Molignon or continue on another walking route.
