Passo Sella

During the summer season the bus service between the holiday region Alpe di Siusi and the Sella Pass offers a very good connection.

Take the gondolas to reach the Refuge Toni Demetz (2684m), situated on the top of the Forcella Sasso Luno. Follow the marking No. 525 steeply downhill, through a rocky valley to the Refuge Vicenza (2252m). From the refuge you climb up steeply through the gorge of the Sasso Piatto, over various areas of scree, until you reach the beginning of the climbing trail.
Attention: Beware of falling stones and parts covered by snow!

Continue through a gorge with a considerable inclination on the northern side of the Sasso Piatto, along narrow ledges and debris until you reach a pass, cross on the peak to the Sasso Piatto (2964m).

NB: during the climbing trail there are some unsafe areas with the degree of difficulty ranging between the first and second grade.

For the way back climb down to the south-western inclined platform, keeping to the right. Then follow the stony footpath marked no. 527 to the Refuge Sassopiatto (2300m). From here continue to the footpath "Friedrich August" which leads you comfortably up and downhill to the Refuge Sella.
